1. We were looking at a set of data points that made a beautiful line and got us out of beta and let us release on time *Slap*
Sorry, I love Portal.
Anyway, we had a table of data that gave us linear PPF/PPC curves. The opportunity cost is defined as the slope of that line. Well, the TA asked us what the OC would be to make one car or something. Now, the original point was like 18 bottles of wine, 0 cars. Then the next point was 15 wine, 1 car. So, slope of -3. Which in econ means 3, apparently.
Boy in Corner: "The OC is 15!"
Me: *thinking* "Oh my God, there can't be anyone else this stup-"
Girl in Other Corner: "Yup!"
2. One girl volunteered to draw a line from (0,18) to (6, 0). STRAIGHT. LINE. She went up and drew a LOGARITHMIC CURVE from (0, 40) to (10, 0).
3. Another girl was told to draw from (0, 12) to (4, 0) or something like that. A straight and relatively short line, even on the chalkboard. What should've taken her 5 seconds took her 3 minutes. Why? She had to draw a point at (0, 12), (1, 9), (2, 6), (3, 3), and (4, 0). Every single point along the way.
4. One boy believes that the US imports it's oil just to export it.
5. We overheard a guy complaining:
Guy: "This class is so much harder than any of my other liberal studies classes!"
He was serious.
